The founding of Welcome Wagon Club of Colorado Springs was initiated and organized by Hollice Funkhouser in 1974.
The first meeting was held at a local Savings and Loan and was attended by four women.
They promised to meet again and each bring a friend who had lived in the area for less than five years. The Club increased in size through the
years and in 1981 an Alumnae Club was formed.
In 1987 the two groups merged to form the Welcome Wagon of Colorado Springs. The name was changed to Pikes Peak Neighbors in June 2001.
